This serves as an introduction, an explanation and a contract, between you and me…
I spend an unjustifiable amount of my time procrastinating. My procrastination takes shape in the unsexy term of “people-watching” and listening, to music, friends and the world. I realised that with time, the noise of my mind took shape in the multiple journals I wrote in, scribbling thoughts aggressively before I lost them.
In time these aggressive scribbles were visited time and time again, like some encyclopedia of emotional mistakes, misunderstandings, and hysteria. They had become my way to help my friends get through their own library of life experiences, in my world the one way you could give advice is through your own experiences.
I’m your phantom dance partner. I’m your shadow. I’m not anything more.
— Haruki Murakami, “Dance, Dance, Dance”
Why Le Fantôme de l’Absurdité? After offering a nod to my favourite author, I also gave a nod to myself, or the self that my dearest friends see. A persona that has timelessly been called absurd. You can define it as you would like, but my personal choice is the latin definition of out of tune, dissonant, foolish. A shivering design of irrationality and a loss of reason. My absurdities are all yours to sample.
These are not to be called blogspots, but journal entries. A series of accounts seen through my lens on life, and should in no way be taken as fact. I will offer you an honest opinion, which you will always take with a pinch of salt. I do hope that in some way I become your phantom dance partner, and a comfort in the noise.
Now, to our union. You & me, dancer & phantom, reader & writer; we agree to be brutally honest.
Names will be changed, and main characters will have initials.
I will always be M – because the beauty of this relationship is that you create the persona you want for me – I am merely an extension of you and your imagination. I will always remain a shadow.
We are all culprits of voyeurism and I offer you an unadulterated cocktail of my mind, HD and for free.
My warmest welcome, and kindest regards,
